Garden River Bend

Allerton Garden photographs well year-round, but the drier summer months (roughly May–September) often bring clearer skies and higher-contrast light that makes the palm fronds and bamboo textures pop. In the wetter season (roughly October–April), expect deeper greens and occasional moody clouds; after rain, the river can look darker and reflections can improve, though humidity and drizzle may increase lens fogging.

- Tap to expose for the palm fronds (or sky) to avoid blown highlights, then slightly lower exposure if needed - Use 0.5x/ultra-wide to exaggerate the arching palm as a natural frame - Try portrait orientation to emphasize the height of the bamboo and palm canopy - Hold the phone low near the path edge to strengthen the river’s leading line - Use HDR sparingly; too much can flatten the lush textures in the shadows

This spot is along the garden paths beside the water, so wear shoes with grip (paths can be damp) and keep a respectful distance from the river edge and plantings; mornings tend to be quieter and easier for unobstructed shots.
