How to Get This Shot
Seasonality
Flows are often strongest during the wetter months (roughly Nov–Apr), when recent rains can boost volume and create more dramatic cascades.
In the drier summer period (roughly May–Oct), flow can be lower but water clarity and footing may be a bit better; go after light rain for a refreshed look without extreme runoff.
Photo Tips
- Use a 1–2x focal length and keep the bottom pool as a leading foreground to the falls
- Tap-focus on the bright water and slightly lower exposure to preserve highlight detail in the cascades
- Try Live Photo/long-exposure mode (if available) for smoother water; brace on a rock or use a small tripod
- Step a little left/right to separate the main curtain from the right-side chute for a cleaner composition
Logistics & Safety
Expect muddy, slick rock near the pool and mist around the base of the falls; sturdy footwear helps. Go early for fewer people and calmer water surfaces, and keep a safe distance from fast-moving runoff after heavy rain.
